Brunei's woven textiles reflect a rich tapestry of cultural heritage, intricately intertwined with Islamic influence. This paper explores the profound influence of Islam on Brunei's woven textiles, highlighting their cultural and spiritual significance. Kain Tenunan Brunei showcase intricate designs that reflect Islamic motifs and principles. By examining traditional weaving motifs, this study illustrates how Islamic art and culture have shaped the
thematic choices and craftsmanship of such textiles.
Through field research and the analysis of literature, the ways in which Islamic teachings are embodied in the designs and practices of textile production are discovered. Ultimately, this exploration reveals that Brunei's woven textiles are not only artistic expressions but also vital representations of identity, continuity, and the enduring legacy of Islamic artistry in Brunei Darussalam.
