Visa
Citizens of ASEAN Member States do not require a visa to enter Laos for 30 days or less. Citizens of other nationalities generally require a visa to enter Laos. E-visa and visa-on-arrival are available.
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the date of arrival, and you should have 2 clean unused pages in your passport.

Wattay International Airport
Wattay International Airport is located 3 kilometers from the center of Vientiane, the national capital of Laos (Lao PDR). It is the domestic and international airport of Vientiane.
Currency Exchange
The official currency in Laos is the Lao Kip, although United States Dollars and Thai Baht are widely accepted. Currency exchange is only permitted at official bank outlets. Exchanging foreign currency at unofficial shopfronts is not permitted.
A few ATM facilities allow cash withdrawals from international credit cards. Banks offering these services include the BCEL, JDB and Lao-Viet Banks. Several banks offer over-the-counter credit card cash advance services during bank opening hours.

Credit cards are not readily acceptable outside of major tourist hotels, shops, and restaurants.
